Hypercomplex Moments Application in Invariant Image Recognition

چکیده
Moment invariants have found wide application in pattern recognition since it was proposed. The main difficulty in the application of moment invariants is the computation of the moment invariants. The presented paper is devoted to elaboration of new methods of image invariant recognition in Eucledian and non–Eucledian 2– dimensional spaces, based on the the theory of hypercomplex numbers that allow to work out efficient algorithms of moments and invariants calculation.

Pseudo Zernike Moment-based Multi-frame Super Resolution
The goal of multi-frame Super Resolution (SR) is to fuse multiple Low Resolution (LR) images to produce one High Resolution (HR) image. The major challenge of classic SR approaches is accurate motion estimation between the frames. To handle this challenge, fuzzy motion estimation method has been proposed that replaces value of each pixel using the weighted averaging all its neighboring pixels i...
متن کاملIllumination Invariant Face Image Representation Using Quaternions
Variations in illumination is a well-known affecting factor on face recognition system performance. Features extraction is one of the principal steps on a face recognition framework, where it is possible to alleviate the illumination effects on face images. The aim of this work is to study the illumination invariant properties of an hypercomplex image representation. A quaternion description fr...
متن کاملImage representation using separable two-dimensional continuous and discrete orthogonal moments
This paper addresses bivariate orthogonal polynomials, which are a tensor product of two different orthogonal polynomials in one variable. These bivariate orthogonal polynomials are used to define several new types of continuous and discrete orthogonal moments. Some elementary properties of the proposed continuous Chebyshev–Gegenbauer moments (CGM), Gegenbauer–Legendre moments (GLM), and Chebys...
متن کاملTranslation invariants of Zernike moments
Moment functions de0ned using a polar coordinate representation of the image space, such as radial moments and Zernike moments, are used in several recognition tasks requiring rotation invariance. However, this coordinate representation does not easily yield translation invariant functions, which are also widely sought after in pattern recognition applications. This paper presents a mathematica...
متن کاملAbu - Mostafa and Psal Tis : Image Normalization
The role of moments in image normalization and invariant pattern recognition is addressed. The classical idea of the principal axes is analyzed and extended to a more general definition. The relationship between moment-based normalization, moment invariants, and circular harmonics is established. Invariance properties of moments, as opposed to their recognition properties, are identified using ...
